Plant of the week : Miscanthus oligostachyus

This plant would have to be one of our favourites in the DTL office.

Also known as “Dwarf Feather Grass”, this is definitely one plant that is best grown in drifts rather than as an individual specimen. Mass planting will definitely showcase it’s beauty.

Fuss free and easy to grow, they are ideal for borders or for waterside planting.

There are many different varieties that flower late Summer to Autumn ranging from orange, red, yellow and purple.

Plant them in sunny areas of your garden with moist soil and you will be rewarded with flowers that sometimes right through to Winter.

‘Win win’ when they are so low maintenance as well!
