Plant of the week – Echinacea purpurea

If you are an avid reader on the net of all things green, you will know that THE flavour of the month amongst designers is the perennial garden. part of any gorgeous meadow is echinacea purpurea.

Well known for it’s medicinal value ( handy at this time of year in our beautiful city! ), it is also known to be easygoing and drought and heat tolerant.

Commonly known as the Eastern Purple Cornflower this could be a great addition to the home garden. The flowers are great for cutting and attracting bees, butterflies and other insects!
